THERMAL SPRAY HIGH HOLD

First time purchasing this heat protectant spray. Used to protect hair from flat iron. Spray is very sticky and makes my hair stiff. Doesn’t leave my hair shinny. Not the results I expected. Wish I could return. Will not purchase again.

Do not over use or your hair will be stiff. I light coating is all that is needed.

I'm sad that I can't find this product anywhere. This has been the best product to style my hair. It holds the curl. Not sure what I can replace it with.

I have very thin fine hair that typically doesn’t hold any type of wave or curl. But this stuff is perfection and have been using for 3+ years!

I've used Redken Hot Sets 22 for over 20 years and am freaking out a little right now because I need to restock my bathroom cabinet (I have always bought the large refill bottle and cannot find anymore) The last time I restocked, it had to buy the little bottles which was disappointing. Now I'm seeing that 22 has been discontinued and the new product is not a fan favorite? What's a girl to do? Is there another comparable product? OR, please bring back 22!!!

After using this product I noticed it turns my natural silver hair yellow . If it's yellow due to heat then this stuff doesn't work for heat protection with curling iron. If it's not the heat it's the product either way om going to have to stop using it .

New product is nothing like the original hot sets 22. I used that product for years! The smell is terrible. It used to be nonscented. Instead of the great "sick to it ness" it gave your hair, now it makes your hair too soft and flat. Please bring back the original formula.

First, I don't understand the reviews where the reviewer takes their dislike of the product as a personal affront. Not every product made, by any company, will meet everyone's expectations. It's not personal so there is no reason to go to Mach 10 in a review. My opinion on this product is that it isn't good. It sprays unevenly (not a mist) and leaves my hair dry and crunchy. I bought it at the recommendation of the Blowout Professor. His recommendation of Redken shampoo and conditioner has worked well for me. But this product is very disappointing and after 3-4 attempts I realize it will never work for me.

Why in the world would you stop making Hot Sets 22? I have used it for 20 years and now you change to something that is worthless? I always bought the large bottle and refilled my spray bottle. Now what do I do? This is ridiculous. Just like when you stopped making PPT and Climatress! You find something good and the company stops making it! I'm done with Redken!

It replaces Hot Sets 22 and is different. Also, Redkin does not sell this new stuff in the16.2 oz. size like it did for the Hot Sets 22. A customer is forced to buy yet ANOTHER bottle of the stuff instead of refilling the bottle from the large size. It's a waste of materials, fills the landfills and is poor consumerism in all regards. Plus, the cost of the 4.2 oz size is what I paid for the larger 16.2 oz size. Redkin lost a customer.

I was so very disappointed with this product as it was recommended by the Blowout Professor! It makes my hair sticky and smells so terrible, like an old perm used to smell, that I can’t use it.

Gross. Very dissapointing for a redken product. I use to love redken satin wear. I thought this would be the next best thing to try since they discontinued it. And am not impressed. It makes your hair feel like you just put the cheapest hair spray on it. It smells weird. Nothing like any heat protectant I've ever used! Don't waste your money on this product!

it makes my hair feel so disgusting. i don’t like the way it feel when i run my hands through my hair at all

After washing and conditioning my hair I spray the thermal spray (hot sets) on my wet hair. Then I comb it through and blow dry. I wait about an hour to make sure it’s totally dry. Then as I curl my hair with the curling iron I spray each section as I go along. Spray hair, curl with iron. I have a much fuller style with my fine hair. Spray with hair spray when finished. I then curl with the curling iron without spray for 2-3 days and my hair looks great!

I loved the previous Hot Sets but this new version is terrible for fine hair! Impossible to brush through my hair after using it.

It makes my hair crunchy after it’s dried in and when I try to brush it through it’s terribly difficult and hard and crunchy. I’ve never had a heat protectant do this to my hair, it’s really not worth the price. What heat protectant crunches your hair up like hairspray??! Awful product.

I have never used anything so amazing for my hair and this is the 1st product that has ever kept a curl in my thin hair all day! I am absolutely hooked on this product and highly recommend it

This product glues all my hair together and rips it out when I try to brush it through. It looks and feels sticky and is a terrible product.

I have color treated hair that normally looks frizzy and this totally tames it! My style lasts longer with this too, a solid 3 days! Cherry on top is it smells so good too!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Redken Thermal Spray Setting Mist is a great product. It is very easy to use and works well. I used it most often while flat ironing my hair to protect and hair and help keep it smooth. This product definitely did its job. My hair was soft, straight and not frizzy. My one suggestion is to spray your hair in sections. This product dries very quickly and if I didn't get to a section of hair quick enough it felt like hair spray in my hair. Overall a great product!

To start off, it does what it's supposed to. My hair didn't feel burnt after using my hot iron with this spray. However the smell was a turn off. The initial smell was very strong of chemicals. And it got worse as it was heating up with my curler. Also, the spray left my hair feeling sticky and crunchy. It's not a hair spray, my hair shouldn't feel so stiff. Other sprays I've used have left my hair feeling more natural and soft without the smells.

I have fine wavy hair that needs extra protection for heat styling but I have never had a product feel like this before and was sadly disappointed overall when I used it for the first time because the experience generally was unpleasant and unexpected. Following the directions on the bottle, I was surprised by the hairspray texture and feeling it left after being sprayed on my towel dried hair and wish I had sectioned my hair and only applied this to the individual sections because it dried very quickly and got stickier the more it dried and felt like I was flat ironing hairspray. The stickiness did go away a bit after a while but the over feel of my hair after it was dry has a tacky and slightly stiff feeling, certainly not smooth and soft and flowy. I couldn't wait to wash it out fast enough. Perhaps I did it wrong but I will definitely not be using this again. Also didn't care much for the smell of it.
