  1. Redken Color Gels Oils
    5 out of 5 stars.

    Fantastic!

I absolutely LOVE this product! I have tested it on myself, as I've been coloring my own hair for years, fine, full, level 5-6 for years and how new products react to my hair is how I can presume outcomes for other hair types. I'm an all over platinum blond and will always use this product for on scalp lightening! The gel-like consistency is perfect for bottle application, which I prefer while doing retouch applications. The tone is the perfect shade to drab out warmth, and the conditioning qualities for the scalp are amazing. I almost forgot I was processing because of the lack of stinging one typically gets with lightener on scalp. The consistency is great also as the product adheres to the hair instantly, and did not swell at all! I will say as a level five I was happy with my on scalp results, however I wouldn't recommend using it to lighten lengths unless you're planning lightening long term. I processed for about 40-55 minutes and got great results, and my regrowth was still very soft and close to it's natural texture. I only had a stinging sensation when mixed with a non-Redken "-plex" product, and would recommend that if you decide to use such product, you stick with Redken's pH bonder.
