Redken Brews Clay Pomade

[Employee of redken] Did a good job holding my hair, but my grey hair turned red, or as my granddaughter laughed you have pink hair. I try washing it out and still my hair is red!

It holds but it is frustrating to get on. Plus it pulls hairs out. I wanted the thickening product which was awesome. This is terrible!

I started buying this clay after my barber used it on my hair once after the haircut. I love how easy it is to apply this product and to create different looks or restyle it with a really good hold and natural finish. I would recommend to use it on a damp hair rather than completely dry and then to use the blow dryer to secure your hair in place. You can add some more product afterwards if needed or if you want to add some more texture. So far the product is 5 stars, however I gave it only 4 and here's why... I'm on my 4th clay pomade so far and 2 of them delivered exactly what I described above, but 2 of them didn't really meet the expectations and the results that made me start using it. My hair instead of looking natural seemed greasy and it was much harder to restyle it after the product has settled. On the hands, the two I liked were more dense and sticky while the two I disliked were softer and oily. The only difference that I noticed on the packaging is that the one I liked is "Made in Canada with Canadian and imported parts" and the one I disliked is just "Made in Canada" if that makes any difference.

Recommended by the barber who works at the salon my wife uses. I have thin fine hair that is hard to control (frizzies). Just a little dab on wet hair, let dry then comb and holds all day. Works better than the gel i was using.

It also seems that this product will last us a while. Highly recommend the product and will switch to this full-time.

I would apply a very small amount in my hair after the shower and it would last all day. With most pomades I would have to wet my hair or reapply at least once throughout the day. Not with Redken! It held and kept my hair looking great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used a fair variety of different hair products and this one is definitely an interesting selection from Redken. To be transparent I'm really not feeling the gritty texture that you get when you apply this product. Especially on dry hair - in my opinion you should definitely avoid using this on completely dry hair. It's way too thick and, again, gritty, that it just seems to clump up and leave you with somewhat of a tangled mess.
